Out of the three resorts in universal studios Orlando which is the best to stay in for your 21st birthday?
It’s going to be my 21st birthday in October and I want to go to city walk but im not sure which hotel to stay in. Which hotel would you stay in? The Hard Rock, the royal pacific, or the Portofino?
If I were you, I would either go to the Hard Rock or the Royal Pacific. The Portofino does have things going on but it is more of the quiet, calm, luxurious feeling to me. Not very exiting.
Hard Rock- check out if they are having Velvet Sessions during the week you go so you can enjoy an extra perk during your stay. It’s kind of like a mini rock concert in the hotel lobby. Very FUN! The swimming pool at the Hard Rock has music playing under water so when you go swimming you can listen to music too underwater. ha ha
They also have dances, movies, or rock bands going on outside in the pool/bar/recreation area outside during select night.
Royal Pacific- This hotel I would say is between hard Rock and the Portofino. They have luau night and torch lighting ceremonies which are fun to watch.
The Hard Rock is the closest walk away from Citywalk followed by the Royal Pacific and the Portofino is an extremely long walk.

I particularly love the Portofino Bay, because it’s beautiful and far enough away from the commotion so it’s not too loud, but it’s still close enough that you can follow a walkway to the parks or take a boat. I really like how it’s modeled after Italy; it’s got a wonderful feel to it, and it’s pretty classy but still casual. The food is delicious, as well. However, if you’re looking for something more fun, I suggest the Hard Rock Hotel. It’s definitely louder, but it’s more interesting. There’s a lot more going on there than at Portofino Bay. I haven’t heard much about the Royal Pacific. All three hotels are easily accessible to the parks by boat or walking.
Definitely hit up Margaritaville on City Walk, too!
