how long should you be at the airport before flight?
Flying from Stl to Mco flight is 10:18 3 adults three kids. What time should be get to the airport we will be checking bags flying on a friday end of may. Also what time should be get to the orlando airport to return home we will be dropping off rental car keep in mind. Thanks ahead of time for answers.
If you have 3 kids, I would "plan" on being there 3 hours ahead of take-off.
Four reasons –
1 – Especially with a larger family, you never end up leaving when you intend to anyway
2 – Once you get there, I guarantee one or all of your children are going to want food, bathroom, etc. (depending on ages, etc)
3 – If you need to take care of rentals, this extra time will be needed!
4 – Especially around April/May – ‘Tis the season for flying. Especially if you are in Florida. That is the state for people to ‘flock’ to for the winter to stay warm. Springtime, they fly back to the north to be with their families. (I know this, because my parents do it every year) —- You may have long lines/waiting.

Check the airline website or call the airline. Most say for domestic U.S. flights allow at least 2 hours before your schedule flight to get through the lines and security. Being that it is the end of May I think you would want a little more time, that is when a lot of college kids will be heading home from school, some schools will be getting out then and people will be heading off for vacation. Make sure you are at the ticket counter checking in 90 mins. before your flight departs.
This will make sure there are no problems when checking in that can’t be resolved.
Check the airline website to make sure you know the amount of bags you can check and have your ID with you.

2 hours should be enough but to be on the safe side, I would be there 2 and 1/2 hours before flight.
I hope you are taking Air tran flight FL 790 leaves STL at 1018 and arrives into MCO at 1333. Since you are with 3 kids, better be at the airport 2 hours before the flight time otherwise 1 hour is enough for the domestic flights. have a nice flight.
