Port Canaveral Transportation

There are a number of transportation options for getting you to Port Canaveral from the Orlando International Airport (MCO).

1) Car Rental from the airport.  All of the major car rental companies have locations at the Orlando Airport.  If you rent a car from the airport you can drive yourself to the port without having to worry about waiting for or scheduling a shuttle service.   If you rent a car, you should consider the fact that you will have to pay to park at the port.  The current charge is $15 per night.  Another option here is to rent a car from a company that also has a location near the port.  For example, Hertz has a location near the port and if you rent a car from the Orlando airport, you could one-way the car to their port location and then take their shuttle to the port.  When you return from your cruise you can rent again from the port location and then return the car to the airport.

2) Use your cruise line’s shuttle service – Most cruise lines have contracted with shuttle companies to get you to the port.  The current rate for this service is around $70 per person for the round trip (this rate doesn’t include a tip).  When you select this option you should plan on the fact that it will take you between 2 – 3 hours to get to the port which is about 45 minutes away.

3) Your third choose for getting to the port is to use one of the many shuttle, car or limo services.  These services are typically cheaper than your cruise line’s shuttle service if you traveling with 5 or more people.  This form of transportation will normally get you to the port in about 45 minutes to an hour.
