When my wife and I took our Bahamas cruise, Carnival arranged for passenger pickup at the Orlando Airport. We got on a bus with about 30 other passengers which took us straight to the cruise docks. We were also bused back to Orlando afterwards. The price was included in the cost of our cruise. Taxis are OK around Orlando, but I wouldn’t recommend the cost for that length a drive. It’ll cost you a small fortune.
Take a taxi or rent a car at MCO and drop at Cruise port. THirfty or national are the lowest usually.

This might be one of those cases where the cruise transfers are the best way to go. However, if you plan to arrive at the departure city the night before you cruise [always a good idea], then that won’t work. I’m guessing that renting a car may be the best bet.
But, a good place to get info about this is at CruiseCritic.com. Click on "Boards" then go to "East Coast Departures" board and browse for that topic. Or, do a search on that board for "Port Canaveral" or post your question there. You will have to join CC to do either of the latter two, but it’s free.
