What time should I board my cruise? It departs at 4:30pm from Port Canaveral?

Its the Monarch of the Seas ship. After the cruise we are spending 4 days at Disneyworld . But my flight into Orlando is a 630am in the morning. I have a 5-day park hopper ticket and was thinking about going to the Magic Kingdom from say 9 to 12am when i first arrive because I will have that extra day on my park hopper ticket anyway. We need to burn some time between 630am and the time we board. I’m getting a cheapo rental car instead of taking a shuttle to Port Canaveral. WHAT TIME WILL THE SHIP START BOARDING IF IT DEPARTS AT 4:30 PM. Will I have time?

Boarding will end 1 hour before departure. So you will not be able to board if you are not on the ship at 3:30.

That being said, it usually takes at least 30 minutes to do all the check in things depending on the line. 2 seems to have the longest lines. Lunch is included that first day so I always get on the ship between 12 and 1. Then you are all checked in and sit on the lido deck for a while and each lunch and get a drink. They open the rooms up about 2.

You could go to Disney that morning but you better keep close look on your watch. Personally I’d pick Animal Kingdom for your last day rather than Magic b/c it doesn’t have as many people or as long of lines. You’d be able to do most of the rides in 3 hours. If you are at the park at exactly 9 and get into the park first so you don’t have a line, it would be best. Ride a few rides and enjoy it from 9-11. Drive to the pier which will take you about 45 minutes-1 hr to get there. So if you start walking out of the park at 11, you get to your car 1130. Since you’ll have to park at the cruise ship terminal, I’d leave 1:30 for drive and park time even if it doesn’t quite take you that long. That’s putting you boarding at 1 which is completely doable.

You could even do that all one hour later–leave park 12 and arrive at cruise at 2 but I definitely wouldn’t do it any later than that.

you should probly start boarding one and a half to two hours before it departs, cuz the last time i went on a criuse there was a long line for boarding

The ships start boarding fairly early and serve lunch. If you decide to
go to Disney, make sure to leave no later than 12 as you will need
to get to the terminal, park, and wait in line. The nearer 3:30, the
longer the lines will be. If you could arrange to get there around 1, that
should be fine and your lunch will still be waiting and you won’t have to
purchase lunch that day. The ship should start boarding no later than
noon and possibly before noon. I like to board early and beat the
crowd, but since you want to utilize your ticket and you cannot board
at 8, by all means go have some fun. It will take awhile to drive from
Disney World to Cape Canaveral so keep this in mind and plan accordingly. Your plan sound fine – staying until 12.
If you contact the cruise line or a travel agent and they give you a time that they will start boarding, this is not always the
case – I have known them to start boarding earlier than they
    said.

Usually Ships allow you to board up to 5 hours prior to the Ship departing. I’m taking it your going on a Royal Caribbean ship. My answers are based on Royal Caribbean ships. If I were you, I would shop around that morning, as there are really nice shopping centres there. Going to Magic Kingdom for 3 hours is a waste, because there is so much to do and see, I would wait and just go when you guys are there for 4 days after. It’s good to get on the ship really early, because the line ups to get on the ship later can be really big. Getting on early also gives you time to explore the ship before the huge crowds of people board. I’d say board at about 11:30-12:30, because people are just getting on. You don’t have access to your room for roughly 2-3 hours after 11:30.

    Enjoy your Cruise vacation!

You need by law be on board no later than 3 pm. they have the right to not allow you to board if later than that.

YOU will NOT have time to do disney before boarding the ship. You are allowed to board as early as 11 am. and I suggest that you get to the port and wait in line as soon as you dock to get the best opportunity to see the ship without a lot of people around. Unless you are at MK at 7 am, you will get into the park about 10 after all baggage check, and getting through the lines to get in. I have stood in line there for almost 2 hours waiting to get into the park.

It is about 1.5 hours from the airport. if you land at 630 am, by the time you get your rental car, it will be between 730 and 8 am depending on how many ppl are in front of you. Load your car about 8 – 830 am. driving to the port, you will get there about 10 am. dropping off luggage, parking, and getting in line 1030 am. getting checked in 11 am. and you are on board.

    but do whhat you want.
